SUMMARY:Owl Farm PC Meetup
DESCRIPTION:Owl Farm is a 34 acre Permaculture Idea Site and Wildlife Refuge which includes four homes.  I moved here in 2003 and have practiced permaculture and landscape artistry for 20 years.     \n\n\n\nHugelkulture used on the north side of a holly hedge (dark shady) for a fern garden.\, made with cottonwood boles.  ogen fixing and other landscape plants.  \n\n\n\nAside from individual gardens\, we have a food forest\, three patches of coppiced basket willow\, a pond\, 19 acres of interesting forest and lots of sensors to monitor wildlife and birds.  Less than 3 acres are under human cultivation\, the rest is managed for wildlife by controlling weeds\, a no dog policy\, and increasing native diversity.    \n\n\n\nPeach tree guild with edible thimbleberries\, perennials\, and annuals including daylilies\, hostas\, and edible mache\, plus native Shepherdia for nitrogen fixing and other landscape plants. \n\n\n\n In zones 1 and 2\, currently we are replacing plants that are not attractive to pollinators with natives.  The Meet-up activities are a tour\, apple pressing\, discussion and potluck!   \n\n\n\nOne of three basket willow patchs – a good crop for wet areas. 34 european varieties of various colors are coppiced and harvested every winter. This bed has 700 plants.\n\n\n\n\nOwl Farm context \n\n\n\n\n360-734-2561 \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nShare It!\n Share on X (Opens in new window)\n X\n \n Share on Facebook (Opens in new window)\n Facebook\n \n Share on Bluesky (Opens in new window)\n Bluesky\n \n Share on Pinterest (Opens in new window)\n Pinterest\n \n Share on Telegram (Opens in new window)\n Telegram\n \n Email a link to a friend (Opens in new window)\n Email\n Like this:Like Loading…
